Gettin' outta dodge! Isn't that the saying when you are leaving town? Who knows. So, luckily a few friends and myself were able to get some time off of work, and threw together a last minute trip. I mean, really last minute - we finalized plans last week! We pretty much let the room availability be our guide, and it came together nicely. What started as 1 or 2 short overnight trips, turned into a week long vacation. I couldn't have asked for anything better! Destination: Clear Lake followed by San Francisco.
That's a little collage I threw together of the places we'll be staying (thanks picasa!). Now, I've never been to Clear Lake - but my Mom has been pushing me to go for years. I've heard from everyone that's it's beautiful, and the pictures back up those claims! I'm so excited. We're going to stay at the lake for 3 nights, then hop down to San Francisco for 2 more nights. I absolutely love San Francisco, and the place we always stay in is right above Union Square, so we're pretty central to get around easily. We don't have any specific plans for either stay, which is just how I like it. Gonna go with the flow, and see where that takes us...
We are leaving today and we'll be back Saturday... which means I won't be at a computer posting! However, I did set aside some time last week to set up some blog entries that will auto-post this week, so you'll still have plenty to read, see the good I do? Haha... I apologize that I probably won't be replying to your comments as quickly, but I promise to get to them as soon as we get back. Have a great week everyone, enjoy the weather, and - where are you heading out to this summer? Any big trips or are you having a staycation? Those are great too. Well - I'll be back next week!
Enjoy your visit to Clear Lake! I live in Lakeport, on the lake. You'll be getting some mild weather (after last week's hellish 100+ stuff). Best Mexican food: Angel's in Finley. Water sports rentals: Disney's in Lakeport. LOTS of excellent wine to taste. Check out our county's quilt panels on the sides of barns & historic buildings...very cool. The online visitor's guide has lots of info for Lake County. Hope your visit is fun.
